Pleased to have attended the "Water Matters: A conversation on community involvement and water catchments" event today in Navan ran by the Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO).The event focused on the catchment of the River Boyne which has been selected as one of the pilot projects nationally and covered a range of existing and propsed community projects including water quality improvement, river basin management, fishery enhancement, nature conservation and invasive species management.The workshop was well attended by a number of community groups and other stakeholders in the region.The big disappointment however was the distinct lack of involvement from other angling clubs and associations with just one other club represented along with Navan & District Anglers Association. ... Our beginners Fly Tying Course has been running over the last number of weeks following on from a very successful Intermediate course before Christmas.
