Open Season for Trout and Salmon
The angling season for Navan & District Anglers Association runs from March 1st to September 30th
Day Permits available between March 1st to August 31st

Trout:
€ 15.00 Day Permit
€ 70.00 Week Permit
Methods: Artificial fly using orthodox fly line only. No spinning is permitted for Day Permit holders.
Only club members are permitted to guide for trout angling on Association waters.
Trout Size Limit : Any fish under 11 inch (28cm) and over 16 inch (40cm) are to be returned to the river alive.
Salmon:
€ 30.00 Day Permit (a valid State Licence must be produced on purchase and available for inspection)
Method: Artificial fly, spinning and prawn.
Single barb less hook, no worm fishing.
All anglers must observe areas that are restricted to fly fishing only.
No guiding for Salmon angling is permitted on club waters.
Coarse fishing permitted on Association waters between Railway Bridge and Balmoral Water on the Blackwater
– Valid for Navan club members only
Fishing by rod and line only. Using a single rod at a time.
Fly Only
The following sections of Association water have been designated for fly fishing only for Trout and Salmon:
River Boyne
From New Bridge/Ardboyne Hotel up-steam to Kilcarn Weir.
From Blackcastle Weir to the stream – both banks.
River Blackwater:
From Poolboy bridge, Navan up-stream to Elliott’s Weir.
Creel Census
All members be advised that all Salmon and Trout over 1 1/2 lb must be recorded on the Creel Census and returned at the end of the season.
The lighting of fires is not permitted along club waters and anglers are reminded to ensure that the fishery is to be maintained in a clean and orderly condition.
