Fishing the waters

Due to the outbreak of COVID 19 all Navan Anglers Club waters will remain closed until further notice anyone fishing should be reported to IFI 24hr hot line 1890347424 (1890fish24) or Navan community Garda 046 9036100.

Update: Waters are open to members only who live within the government sanctioned radius.
No new applications for membership are currently being considered

Sections of the river Boyne and River Blackwater

Open Season for Trout and Salmon
Match 1st top September 30th

Daily bag limit
Trout: Two Trout
Salmon: Catch and Release

€ 15 Day permit
Artificial fly using orthodox fly line Only!

Only Club members are permitted to guide for Trout angling.

Trout Size Limit : Under 11 inch (28cm) and over 16 inch (40cm) to be returned to the river alive.

€ 25 day permit (must produce state license on purchase)
Artificial fly, spinning and prawn.
Single barb less hook, no worm fishing.
Anglers must observe fly only areas.

No guiding for Salmon angling permitted on club waters.

Coarse fishing permitted on Association waters between Railway Bridge and Balmoral Water on the Blackwater
– Valid for Navan club members only

Fishing by rod and line only. Using a single rod at a time.

Fly only/Catch and release
The following sections of Association water have been designated fly only, catch and release for Trout and Salmon
River Boyne
From NewBridge/ArdBoyne Hotel up-steam to Kilcarn weir.
From Black Castle weir to the stream – both banks.
River Blackwater:
From poolboy bridge, Navan up-stream to Elliott’s weir.

Creel Census
All Salmon and Trout over 1 1/2 lb must be recorded on the creel census and returned at the end of the season

Lighting Of fires is not permitted along club waters.
